Krispy Kreme is appealing to customers’ sensitive sides with an important PSA: Yes, gingerbread people are delicious–but they risk life and limb (literally) every day of the holiday season to satisfy your appetite. This year, Krispy Kreme begs, get your festive fix with a Gingerbread Glazed Doughnut instead.
“Please do your part to enable us to keep all our parts,” “George the Gingerbread Man” implores in a press release. “We implore you to ‘run, run as fast as you can’ to participating Krispy Kreme shops across the U.S., before all the Gingerbread Glazed Doughnuts are gone. And save the lives of innocent gingerbread people everywhere.”
The deliciously seasonal doughnuts, which are spiced with cinnamon and covered in a warm gingerbread molasses glaze, will only be available at participating locations from December 19 to December 24.
“The destruction of gingerbread culture and habitats, aka gingerbread houses, must stop,” says Dave Skena, Chief Marketing Officer of Krispy Kreme. “There’s no reason to consume gingerbread people when you can eat delicious Gingerbread Glazed Doughnuts instead.”
