Nature’s Path, an organic foods company, has issued a voluntary recall of over 400,000 boxes from their EnviroKidz cereal line. According to a company statement shared by the FDA, Nature’s Path is issuing this recall due to undeclared gluten contamination in a specific production run of cereals.
Three varieties of cereals are being recalled, and the FDA says the following should be thrown out by anyone with a wheat allergy, celiac disease, or gluten sensitivity:
According to the company statement, the error causing the recall was isolated to one production facility and was due to air contamination, as a result of incorrect production scheduling. The company is in the process of removing these affected boxes from stores nationwide. None of Nature’s Path other gluten-free products are impacted by this recall.
Consumers who purchased one of these items and would like to be refunded should return the product to the retailer where the cereal was purchased.
